Chapter Events Skip Nault: April 4, 2009 trout stocking of Apple Creek. More than 30 TU members, family and friends braved a sunny but chilly and windy morning to stock Apple Creek at Grosjean Park with more than 600 rainbow and brown trout. Thanks to everyone for their help! AND PLEASE PRACTICE CATCH AND RELEASE. Everyones cooperation is appreciated. 4/4/2009

Fishing Skip Nault: Apple Creek rainbow trout taken on a #20 Palomino midge. Midges are the most common aquatic insect in Apple Creek and work well when water is clear and the fish are fussy. See recipe for tying Palomino midge in following image. 3/28/2009
Meetings Skip Nault: Palomino Midge--Hook: #18-20 scud hook. Body: black micro chenille with tip melted in flame. Shuck and gills: white antron pulled over thorax and clipped. Thorax: Two strands peacock herl. 3/28/2009
Meetings Skip Nault: THREE SURE-FIRE STEELHEAD PATTERNS. Three of my Lake Erie tributary steelhead patterns are shown in the fly box. To the far right are dark and light versions of the prince nymph, in the next two rows to the left are Santas helper and other caddis patterns, and on the far left is the purple Jesus. The recipe for each fly is given in the following pictures. These beadhead flies can be tied on larger or smaller sized hooks and brass beads. 3/20/2009
Meetings Skip Nault: Purple Jesus: This small black stonefly imitation was designed by Jerry Darkus. Hook: #12 scud. Bead: 1/8" black brass. Tail: paired black goose biots. Rib: fine black wire. Body: Spirit River purple haze dubbing. Collar: black ostrich herl. 3/20/2009
