Comments: Me and my brother set out from Northfield to break the cabin fever at Apple Creek. It was an ugly day outside (on and off moderate rain showers) but it was a perfect day for the fish. Temperature was hovering around 40 which led to a slow snow melt that didn’t mess up the water conditions. Water was clear with an absolutely beautiful green tint. No ice on Apple Creek from what I noticed in the 4 hours we were there. We went 4 for 7 with 2 Rainbows, a small Brown, and surprisingly a Palomino. I passed on a bunch of nice holes because I was trying to keep my brother in sight. The hot fly was a size 12 beadhead white woolybugger (barbless). My brother caught one of the rainbows on a size 8 conehead olive woolybugger. There were four other guys we ran into while we were there and they all said they hadn’t caught anything yet. As we were leaving, the creek did begin to get a tiny bit muddy. Trout were all released and I took special care to make sure they were unharmed. Thank you TU for providing this amazing angling opportunity! I wish there were more creeks like this closer to home for me!
