Comments: Nice day, but a little too sunny. When I fished this past Tuesday, the water was a foot higher than today and there was less than 6 inches visibility. I gave up after an hour. Today the visibility was 3-4 feet and I could spot the trout in sunny locations. I tried my go-to pink eggstasy egg pattern, but no interest in that fly or nymph patterns I paired it with for the first two hours. So I switched to a tung bead head Aurora nymph with a black palomino midget as the dropper. That was what the rainbows wanted. I landed 3 of the 4 rainbows on the midge pattern with 5X tippet in a fast, deep run under trees that gave the spot some nice shade. Only saw two other fly fishers.
