Stream Fished: Apple Creek
Date: 08-22-2022
Angler Name: Ted and Colin
Angler Age: 52 and 20
Angler Home: Columbus
Fishing Tackle: Fly Fishing
Fish Caught: Rainbow Trout
Comments: Thought the onset of relatively cooler water might make visit worthwhile. Water temps mostly hovered between 66 and 68 degrees. Water clear and low. Did not move/see a single trout in 3+ hrs of fishing; unusual at Apple Creek from my experience. Tried everything from wooly buggers to San Juan worms, assorted nymphs, even a stimulator when unexpected heavy downpours brought out a few unidentified, lighter mayflies. Only fish caught were chubs, all on #18 beadhead Hare's ear. Lack of fish seen was a little disconcerting, but still a nice day on the water with my son.
