Comments: BEAUTFUL day in Mohican! 26 degrees, sunny, river was (finally!!) not blown out. There were a dozen or so hikers in the park but otherwise had the park and river to myself. Trout are unpressured and the water was clearer than it’s been all winter.
Fished from 12:45-3:15 on the lower Clear Fork. Caught 3 fat rainbows, lost two others. Fished a pink/orange eggstasy pattern for a bit, then dropped a #16 red midge and the trout loved it! Frozen temps iced up the rod guides consistently needing constant tending, but it was an awesome afternoon. Fish were in the slow soft water at the far end of tailing eddies. Hoping to get back up this afternoon.
