Comments: Members of CRFTU assisted novice fly fishers on the lower Clear Fork River on a sunny, Sunday afternoon. The "students" were on the final day of a 3-day class and the first time to fish a stream. The first two days students fished heavily stocked ponds at the Ohio Division of Wildlife District lll headquarters at Portage Lakes in Akron. The class was lead by Ken Fry, Outdoor skills specialist for the DOW.

About a dozen of last falls stockers were caught and released, some up to 10-inches long. Most trout were caught on wooly buggers, some of which were tied by the students in their previous class. We noted some browns feeding on top, likely caddis. These may be the last of the browns caught on the lower Clear Fork that runs through the Mohican State Park. Starting this fall, the DOW will start stocking put and take rainbow trout on the "lower."
