Comments: Randy & I fished the lower Clear Fork for four hours in the morning. Water temp was 63F, a good flow and 18 inches visibility. We saw midge and small mayflies hatching but very few fish rising. We spent the entire morning nymphing. I had 11 hookups and landed 4; Randy had 5 hookups and landed 4. I fished exclusively with the Aurora nymph and once in a while another bead-head pattern. All hookups on the Aurora. Look under gallery for how to tie the Aurora nymph. The fish were big and full of energy. One rainbow jumped 9 times and another 7 times before bringing them to the net. My fish ranged in size from 14 to 16 inches. A few other species were caught, small mouth and rock bass and an 18-inch River Redhorse Sucker that put up one heck of a fight, Look under gallery for pictures.
As a bonus, we saw a bald eagle fly over our heads with a big rainbow trout in its talons. Don't think this raptor practiced catch & release like we did.
