Comments: First time fishing the upper Clear Fork. Stopped at Gatton Rocks Rd because thatās the only place I knew that had public access. Let me tell you that place was packed with swimmers, picnickers, campers, people having fires blaring music, etc. I couldnāt even find a place to park and not one was a fisherman. Upon further inspection every ādecentā area that would hold trout in the summer months (depth/flow) had at least 5 people swimming in it. One hole had 3 rope swings ⦠Quickly called a buddy that had a family friend that lived on the river fished that small section for 45 minutes. Went 6-10 biggest 14 ish smallest 8 ish. All caught euro nymphing and all swam back happy and healthy due to using a net, never taking them out of water, and not touching them (using pliers stop remove hooks). Cool to catch browns out of a different system than the MAD š”, will come back to further investigate the trib. Just found out through this page Apple Valley had trout, may head there soon to try and best a few Browns. (editor, that should be Apple Creek not Apple Valley stocked with rainbow trout).
