Comments: We fished the lower Clear Fork River, same place we had great success in May. I only hooked up with one rainbow, a real beauty of a 17-incher. This means that at least some of the rainbows stocked last October survived the beastly hot weather of July and early August. The water temperature was 73F, with a good flow and 2-ft of visibility. The holes and runs we fished were 3 to 6 feet in depth. I hooked up my rainbow on an Aurora nymph fished under a strike indicator. I fished with Steve Slack. No one else was fishing the stretch of stream we waded.
