Fishing Tackle: Fly Fishing
Fish Caught: Steelhead
Steelhead Caught: 9
Comments: Harry Hoitink and I fished a NE Ohio tributary yesterday. The water was fairly high and a bit muddy, but the fish were biting. We each landed nine or more and lost nearly that many. Aside from four, 2lb "skippers", all fish were 4-7lbs. We were indicator fishing and fish took bright egg patterns, dark beadhead nymphs, and "white death", a white streamer minnow imitation. This was one of my best steelhead days in Ohio. Many of the fish were bright, indicating they had just come in from Lake Erie. I expect we we should have good steelheading the next two months. Get out on the streams!!
