The river we fished was muddy to begin with, but cleared somewhat as the day progressed. The fish were in deep and fast moving water. Between the two of us we hooked up with about 30 steelhead and landed 20. Size of fish ranged between 2 and 8 pounds. Some fish were fresh, but most were dark and likely have been in the river for a while. It did not seem to matter what nymph patterns we used.
